New Generation of Peptide-Based Biomaterials for Tissue Engineering
Supervisor: Emilio Alarcon
My research focuses on the rational design of peptide-based biomaterials, including self-assembling peptides, peptide hydrogels, and collagen-mimetic systems. The project aims to develop new bioinspired materials for regenerative medicine and tissue engineering, using sequence-guided design, physicochemical characterization, and structure–function analysis.
Keywords: Peptide biomaterials; self-assembling peptides; peptide hydrogels; collagen-mimetic peptides
