Ex vivo gene therapy and tissue engineering for the treatment of RDEB
Supervisor: Lucie Germain
We aim to close chronical skin wounds of recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa patients using a combination of tissue engineering, relying on the use of the self-assembly approach developped at the LOEX, with retroviral gene therapy to correct for the expression of type VII collagen and therefore, restore a normal skin phenotype after graft.
Keywords: Skin, Gene therapy, Epidermolysis bullosa
Techniques: Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, Viral transduction, Skin self assembly
