Tribological characterization of lubricating polymers on different biomedical surfaces

Supervisor: Xavier Banquy

The project aims to explore the use of hybrid materials, i.e. a material composed of a nanosuspension and a gelling polymer, as lubricating materials for biomedical applications. The formulations developed are tested in different biomechanical contexts such as eye and joint lubrication as well as ceramic and metallic surfaces protection.

Keywords: Tribology, lubricating polymer, friction

Techniques: Surface Force Apparatus (SFA), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM)
